How skin tag removal works
Skin tags are treated with advanced electrolysis. A sterile probe touches the narrow stalk at the base of the tag and delivers a small, controlled current. That closes off the tiny blood vessels feeding it, and the tag lifts away rather than being cut.
Each tag takes seconds. A small scab forms and separates on its own over roughly one to two weeks, leaving the skin flat. Most people have several treated in one appointment.
About skin tags
Skin tags are extremely common and entirely harmless. They tend to appear where skin folds or rubs.
Where they usually appear
Neck, underarms, eyelids, groin and under the bust are the most common sites, along with anywhere a collar, strap or waistband rubs.
Why they appear
Friction, genetics and hormones all play a part. They become more common with age, during pregnancy, and alongside conditions such as diabetes.
What we can treat
Tags on the neck, body and face, including several in one appointment. Milia, thread veins and blood spots can be treated with the same method.
When to see a doctor first
We only treat blemishes we are confident are skin tags. If a lesion is changing shape, size or colour, if it bleeds, itches, crusts or has an irregular border, or if there is any doubt at all about what it is, we will ask you to see your GP before we treat it.
That is not a formality. A beauty clinic is not the place to have an undiagnosed skin lesion removed, because removing it destroys the thing a doctor would need to examine. If you are unsure, start with your GP and come to us afterwards.

Your first appointment is a consultation and patch test rather than a full removal session. We look at each blemish, confirm it is something we can safely treat, discuss what you want removed and treat a small test area. You leave with a plan and an honest price, and you can see how your skin settles before committing.

Is it an easy drive from St Ives?
It is about 12 miles. South on the A1096, then the A14, then follow signs for Cambourne, then Upper Cambourne. Most people arrive in around 22 minutes.
When is the best time to travel from St Ives?
You are travelling against the Cambridge-bound traffic, which helps. Mid morning is easiest.
Does it hurt?
You feel a brief sharp heat as each tag is treated, over in a second or two. Most people find it very manageable, and the patch test tells you exactly what to expect.
